BIG NEWS!!!

The Bleeding Edge Gothic Dolls made their first TV apearance on Navy NICS where they served mostly as "extras" for the background in the character Abby's office. Well now they're going to be in a TV movie!!! It's a remake of 1974 stop-motion animated classic The Year Without a Santa Claus. A movie that I had to watch nearly every Christmas growing up.

The re-make will star John Goodman as Santa Claus and will feature some other familier faces. Chris Kattan, Eddie Griffin and Delta Burke are some that stand out to me.

The movie is set to air on December 11th at 9pm on NBC.(US)

It sounds like the BEGoths are going to have a scene in a Toy Fair kind of setting. I can't wait for this!! It's going to be so awesome!

Upcoming Lee's Toy Review Contest!!

Well, you can! The BEGoths Street Team is new and it really works! My local branch got a comic book store to carry the dolls and the Comic book!!

"Hello! I am a big fan and friend of the company. I started this a few months ago and already, we have over 130 members from all around the world! So if you would like to become part of this street team, keep reading! Joining is free. Yep, I've been away for a while! Sorry! My computer has been acting up and I have a new job. Which means, much less time for what I WANT to do! Anyways, there's alot of new things to report!

Minor Misfits

Hello! I don't update neerly as often as I know I should...and this week, I got a really adorable Minor Misfits toon in the Bleeding Edge news letter! I feel the need to explain here...the plush toys formerly called "kindergoths" have been changed to Minor Misfits and are the stars of this adorable toon! There have been three so far and in true Bleeding Edge fashion, each is better than the last! The new one is sooooo cute!!

SERIES FIVE + SURPRISES!!!

Hello, hello!! O-C-D and the other three contest winning blogs are pleased to bring you the first look at all these new products!!

Right now the Bleeding Edge crew is in New York for the New York Toy Fair!! (good luck guys!) They are unveiling series five there but since pictures from events never come out quite right, we have been given OFFICIAL pictures!

It's really cold in New York! The crew has to really bundle up!! See? Poor Mr Varner!

Not only are they releasing the new 12" and 7" dolls this time around, but they have come up with many unexpected surprises!! I will get to those later on in this post...one new thing that I will not be having pictures of quite yet is *drum roll* A line of clothing done by WISH licensing! I am told that the very first sample Bleeding Edge has gotten from this line of clothes is a T-shirt just like Fiona Fatale's!

Okay!! On with the dollies!!

First off, here's Ivanna Scream, a very interesting new girl! She has piercings never before used by Bleeding Edge and she has what I believe to be the best trench coat yet on a BEGoths doll!! I love the collar on it! Yes, the picture on her outfit is a parody of the well known "Scream" painting, it glows in the dark ^__^ With that and her lightning makeup, I'm betting she would look incredible under a blacklight!

Next is Esperanza De Muerte which translates from Spanish to "Hope of Death"
I am so happy to see a Hispanic doll! She has a really cute short veil on her head, a broken heart in one eye and a tomb stone in the other, I see her as being a very jaded girl who has been hurt too many times and thinks the only thing worth looking forward to is death. She looks like she just left a funeral! Taking the Black Widow symbol from her dress, one can only assume WHO's funeral that may have been (hee hee)

Okay, now for Annabelle Lee who's name comes from an Edgar Allan Poe story...though I have never read it, that is a very interesting fact! Annabelle has one of the most detailed dresses ever, I can't wait to be able to hold her in my hands just to see how many different designs are in her dress! The subtlety of her black dress and and dark highlights make her look very elegant...she's a true beauty and she looks as though she's from another era...

I bet you're all waiting to see the new Storm O. Misery!! Well, here she is!! Straight out of the fairy tale books we have Red Riding Storm!! Her hair is gorgeous and her eyes remind me of a red fox...I have never seen such a brilliant use of that deep ruby red...she is simply too beautiful for words!

Okay, last but certainly not least of the 12" dolls is Leda Swanson, her name derives from a Greek myth called Leda and the Sawn...
Leda looks plain at first, but as we see from the close up shots, couldn't be farther from it! The wings tattooed on her back make it seem like she's the embodiment of a beautiful angel...She has a certain sweet innocence to her that makes her very special...Also, she's the first doll in a long while with blue lipstick!

All that typing and I still have a lot more to show!!

On to the 7" dolls!!!

First, I am going to show Joani Rotten..she's the first musician so far and even looks like she's still on stage! She seems like she would fit well in either a punk rock band or a mellow gothic band (Scarling comes to mind) she, like, Leda Swanson the 12" has that sweet innocent look, I think her hair bows really add to that. I am very happy to see that she has green streaks in her hair, the addition of green in alot of things with mainly subtle colors always makes for a nice contrast.

Next up is Mina Immortale the third 7" vampire, she looks very retro, like she's been around for a while! If you look close, her base is very creative! I guess she should avoid cemeteries!

Now for a very interesting character named Jacqueline Le Spades, she's a court Jester!! She seems like she would be really fun to have at parties! Look close at what she has in her hand, it's Fester Jester!! The Series three BEGoths plush...I love how they mixed the two different kinds of products!!!

I have saved what I believe is the best out of the 7" for last, her name is Delilah Blackheart and she's a pirate!! I bet she'll spark the interest of some Pirates of the Caribbean fans! Delilah has some of the most gorgeous eyes I have ever seen and I am very pleased to see another doll with brown hair...she is definitely one of the most beautiful 7"s ever...look...she gots a sword...

Okay...done with the 12" and 7" but not nearly finished yet!!

I bet you thought the plush had died out, but here we have the new Minor Misfits dolls!! These are so cute!

First up, we have Belfry, one can only guess this impressionable young mind's first role model (hee hee) Truly an Elvis wanna-be, with his sarcastic smirk, long sideburns and blue suede shoes and diaper...if you ask me, I'd say Lunabella Whispers must have introduced him to "the King" ^_~

Here's one of my favorites! The truly adorable, Desiree Decay!! She's a little tooth fairy who seems to have been spotted by children more than once! She's really roughed up!! Here's a nice little thing for young collectors, her bib is actually a place to keep baby teeth for the tooth fairy to take ^__^

Last of the new Minor Misfits is Gaston Le Boo, he looks so cuddly!! I am very glad to see the first ghost Bleeding Edge has made and he's the only doll out of this line that has the traditional button eyes, I really love him ^__^

Well, recently I found a part of Hot Topic's website where you can ask about and request certain merchandise, so I emailed a Hot Topic representative and ask if they would consider carrying BEgoths again...I got an email that shows some promise!

Series one and Series Two 12" Bleeding Edge Goths had a pretty plain body design, quite basic in fact...

the dolls were beautiful with their clothes on, but underneath...not so special...

Starting with Series Three, BLeeding Edge custom sculpted a body for the 12" fashion dolls. and boy did they sculpt it well!!

The new bodies have ALOT more detail...they now have collar bones, belly buttons, shoulder blades and many more details! I was so impressed when i first saw this! Also, the old series' of dolls could only move their arms and legs back and forth...
The new dolls are INCREDIBLY posible!! It amazes me, how many poses you can put them in!

I have included pictures with this to show the differences, they aren't the best pictures in the world, so trust me, they look better in person...but here are some examples anyways...

Angelina Chase

I have already posted that Angelina Blasphemina's regular version is sold out but they still have the chase version...I thought people may be curious as to how this happened!

So, I searched the Bleeding Edge forum and found a post from the admin(Begoths) on this subject...here's the exact quote...

"in 2004 there was a girl who works for "Dracula's" in Australia who was on the show Big Brother. Big Brother is a huge hit in Australia. On the night that she was evicted, when she gave her speech, she held up the Chase Angelina doll. After that she autographed the doll and it sold on eBay for $1,200.00 USD. Dracula's decided to hold an event where she would be there to autograph the dolls for people and they wanted us to ship 200 Angelina's to them right away! Well, we had to go to our freight forwarder warehouse where all the casepacks of 12" Series 2 were kept and open every casepack, remove all the Angelina's and get them shipped to them! We sent all the chase figures with blue hair we had left and all the black Angelina's we had left. In the meantime, we had our factory making replacements of all the chase Angelina's for us. By the time they arrived, we only had 100 casepacks left that we could make absolute assorted casepacks so we added her to all of them. The rest, sadly were not able to be assorted casepacks anymore. No worries though because the fact that our retailers know they receive 2 chase in every casepack now makes them happy! We sell our regular figures and dolls online to our Crypt Club members so we had to show that Angelina with black hair is sold out! Therefore, we had to show the photo of the chase Angelina!"

So, that's the reason behind that...and with recent talk of the forum members, it sounds like it's also a reason behind somethign strange about Angelina...

the body molds were changed after series two, the series three body molds are more flexible and they have much more detail...well, even though Angelina is a series two doll, it seems like since she had to be reproduced, they gave her chase version the NEW body...

I never knew this until the other day! Seeing as how the series three body is SO much better than the original it's going to be geat having an Angelina that can be as awesome as possible!!(I've recently ordered her)

ONLY TWO LILLIAN CHASE

There are rumors going around the internet that there are THREE chase versions of Lillian De Winter (Series one 12" fashion doll)... The one with all black in the outfit(absolutely no red), and the one with the black coat, red collar and belt are real chase versions of Lillian (normaly she has red lining in her coat, a red collar and a red belt)but there are rumors that the third version has a black coat, black collar and red belt....This version does not exist...the rumor started when a retailer heard about the chase versions of Lillian and missinterperated what was meant when the colors were described...the retailer then photoshopped a picture of the original Lillian De Winter so they could add her to the product list before they actualy got one of her in to photograph....

This then caused a commotion and lead people to believe that there are indeed three Lillian chase versions when in fact, there are only two.

I have the two real chase versions of Lillian in my series one checklist in case i didn't explain this very well and you are confused as to which is the real chase....

Blacklight sensitive

Some dolls react to blacklights really well! You should see the way the dolls with pink in their hair light up! I Swear, Anarchy Annie and Lolita Sun look amazing!! Julia Doom's dress glows a beautiful bright green. And other doll's eyes glow beautifuly, yet eerily...Suzisin Ful, Lunabella Whispers Angelina Blasphemina and Belladonna are some perfect examples of this!

So, if you have any dolls, be sure to see what they look like under a blacklight!

Two dolls have things written on them in different languages, those dolls are Fiona Fatale(Series Four 12") and Suzisin Ful(Series Two 12"). Fiona's is written on the side of her head under her hairline...it's in Chinese and it says "Bleeding Edge" Suzisin's is written on each of her cheaks, it's in Japanese Kanji, one side reads "Black" and the other "Winter".

I was really excited when I found this out! Anything new I learn about the dolls is a new reason to love them.

Amidst all the chase and exclusive dolls there is a type that is even more rare and valuable...

The dolls that by some fluke have different piercings...or, they could be stuck in a box that belongs to another doll...I'm not sure if there are any other differences besides those, so if you find something odd about your doll while it's still in the box(if it's not sealed, there's a possibility you tampered with it) then email me a picture of it and describe what is different to ricee_@hotmail.com.

I wrote it for a contest on Bleeding Edge...you were supposed to write a poem about one or more of their dolls, I chose the vampire dolls for my entry...there are three vampires in total, Siphon, Lunabella and Autumn....and although I did not win anything, I am quite proud of what I came up with and I loved the winning poems and I really believe they deserved their prizes.....enjoy my poem..

Siphon Veins

Oh beautiful Siphon
Your pale blue eyes
Even paler skin
Your pitch black hair
Blowing gently in the wind

Sink your teeth into me
Suck me dry of this mortality
I will go willingly
As you drink my humanity

Oh woman of the night
Keep me safe whilst I change
I wish to join you
In your shadow dwelling ways

I awake cold as my pulse fades away
Suddenly remembering
You don't even know my name

Staring off at the moon

I wish I knew more of the Bleeding Edge crew because the members I do know are amazing people, there are actualy four people who work for the company that are on the Bleeding Edge forum (http//begoths.com/forum) You can be sure any problems or questions you might have can be solved by asking begoths, Steve Varner, Stefan or Veronica. They are amazing and sweet people, nobody could ask for a nicer company to be a fan of...They go out of their way to ensure the satisfaction of their customers...

I swear, it blew my mind when Steve Varner joined the forum, I know he has to be a very busy man and yet he takes the time to answer questions and get to know the members.

So, if you have your doubts about certain companies because of bad experiences in the past, don't worry about Bleeding Edge! They actualy really care about their customers! For once, it's not all about money!

Well, after one of my friends read my blog and mentioned how much she had to strain her eyes to read it...I realised, "hmmm, resolution is different for everyone's cumputer screen...maybe just because it's clear on my computer, it doesn't mean it would be clear on someone else's" So, i finaly changed the text color, with all the green and pink there is on this blog, the purple text never really fit anyways. So I geuss it's for the better.

Okay, so about dollies:

I swear, February can't come any sooner...They are going to unveil the next series of dolls at the New York Toy Fair in Feb. I have heard such good things about this series, it seems the Bleeding Edge crew is very proud of what they came up with, I swear, if anyone makes the suspence anymore unbearable I'm going to hook a brain leach on them so I can see what they have seen O.o I am NOT a patient person...

After MUCH, MUCH hard work, dedication, fact gathering and many pixel dolls, I have finished my Bleeding Edge checklists!!!!! *Dances around with pink elephants*

Ack, I can't tell you how many hours I spent trying to get everything just right....I even had to do the series three list THREE times x_x computer problems...I hope it turned out ok (^_^; )

*sigh* I'm seeing more and more new members joining the Bleeding Edge forum almost every day and ranting about how amazing the people are there, how nice the atmosphere is...and you know what? It always reminds me of when I first joined...

Everyone there is so warm, you don't have to go through the hazing, the desperate fight to get people to acknowledge your existance...no "n00b" harrassment...no nazi mods or admins...

Just nice, intelligant, caring people who all share similar passions...I swear, joining that forum was one of the best things I have ever done, I have said that a million times and I will say it a million more!

I found one specific quote quite interesting! Wicked Talent Cosplay

Last July at the Comic Con in San Diego the lovely Donna Ricci(gothic supermodel) and her beautiful models from Wicked Talent came dressed as Bleeding Edge Goths!! Also, Lee's Toy Review Magazine had a cosplay contest(costume role play) in which three people won with thier BEgoths costumes, the third prize winner just happened to be the guy I dressed up!
